Now available in condensed publication (Volumes 1-3) at Amazon

"Man has not only developed religion to explain the unknown, but has entered a personal relationship with the power he fears and with the deity or deities he worships. The basic ways that man relates to this is through offering, prayer, and ritual acts." [Introduction, p. 5]

EASTER MESSAGE

Easter Day commemorates the victory of Jesus Christ over death. It is a tradition for Christians to attend mass and churches to remember what the founder of Christianity represents and the covenant with God.

Adore God. Reverence and cherish your parents. Love your neighbor as yourself, and your country more than yourself. Be just. Be true. Murmur not at the ways of Providence.
Thomas Jefferson

Those who are not Christians use the day to gather with family for a traditional feast enjoying the unity of the family nucleus, an entity that has slowly disintegrated in the society of the United States.
In a speech given by
Ronald Reagan, he stated:

I have said that we must be cautious claiming that God is on our side. I think the real question we must answer is: Are we on His side?

EASTER

The date of Easter is not fixed because the date of Jesus crucifixion was not recorded. The date was fixed by the Church to fall between March 22nd and April 25th because it occurred during the Festival of Passover. We know this because it was mentioned in the New Testament when Jesus gathered with his Disciples what became known as the “Last Supper”. The Passover time depends upon the cycles of the moon and 4th century Church leadership decided that Easter would always be on a Sunday following the first full moon after the Spring equinox. That would be the “Paschal” full moon that does not appear on the same day.

Then in the 18th century, the Western and Eastern (Orthodox) Church decided to use different calendars, making Easter timing more complex. The word “Easter” is a derivative of the word “Passover”. In French it is “Paques”, in Spanish “Pascua” and Italian, “Pasqua”. In Hebrew it is “Pehsach”.

DISCUSSION OF PHENOMENOLOGY AND THEOLOGICAL HISTORY OF RELIGION

My book, Phenomenology of Religion: Condensed Volumes 1-3, I extensively discuss religion; specifically the phenomenology of religion in the historical sense as well as the individual's view of extensive religious beliefs circumventing the globe. This is a treatise that complements and constitutes an update upon my writings after its publications and is protected under the copyright laws of that publication. Appropriately it is being written as an article for my blog Veritas et Theologium.
